GTA 6 Platforms
Which consoles get Grand Theft Auto VI at launch — and when PC players can expect it.
Confirmed: GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version is expected to follow later but has not been announced or dated.
Confirmed GTA 6 launch platforms
Rockstar Games has confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI for the current generation of consoles only:
- PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro)
- Xbox Series X and Series S
There is no announced version for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. GTA 6 is built around current-gen hardware — fast SSD storage, more memory and modern GPUs — so a last-gen release is very unlikely.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version, but history strongly suggests one is coming. Both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on consoles first and arrived on PC later — often more than a year afterwards. Expect a similar pattern: a polished PC port some time after the console launch. See our expected PC system requirements for what hardware you'll likely need.
What about Nintendo Switch 2?
Nothing has been announced. A game as demanding as GTA 6 would need significant optimisation for handheld-class hardware, so a Switch 2 version — if it ever happens — would most likely come much later, if at all. Treat any such claim as speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.
